For some years now, a very interesting initiative for illustrators, artists and creatives in general has spread on Instagram, which invites you to tell a story or stories related to our traditions, to folk tales of our country or of another country ... is the FOLK TALES WEEK, conceived by a group of creatives present on the social network, which creates a network of people interested in the event. Like all challenges, it is a way to test yourself, to learn and grow. A technical exercise that allows you to train your head and hands. Every have there are PROMPTS, different themes to follow (7 to be precise!) That accompany the days of the last week of November, from 23 to 29, 2020. This year I also participated by associating the prompts to poems belonging to all to the same book, the SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY, by Edgar Lee Master. This book, which I have read several times and which I have loved very much, is the common thread of my illustrations. I chose a softer palette, less contrasted and with little saturated colors, since we are definitely far from the themes aimed at children, where in general bright and decisive colors are preferred ...

 

Da qualche anno su Instagram si è diffusa un' iniziativa molto interessante per illustratori, artisti e creativi in genere, che invita a narrare per immagini o per creazioni artistiche una storia o delle storie legate alle nostre tradizioni, ai racconti popolari del nostro paese o di un'altro paese...  è il FOLK TALES WEEK, ideato da un gruppo di creativi presenti sul social, che crea una rete di persone interessate all'evento. Come tutte le sfide, è un modo di mettersi alla prova, per imparare e crescere. Un esercizio tecnico che permette di allenare testa e mani. Ogni hanno ci sono dei PROMPTS, delle differenti tematiche da seguire (per la precisione 7!) che accompagnano i giorni dell'ultima settimana di Novembre, dal 23 al 29, 2020. Quest'anno ho partecipato anche io associando i prompts a delle poesie appartenenti tutte allo stesso libro, l'ANTOLOGIA DI SPOON RIVER, di Edgar Lee Master. Questo libro, che ho letto diverse volte e che ho amato moltissimo, è il filo conduttore delle mie illustrazioni. Ho scelto una palette più tenue, meno contrastata e con colori poco saturi, visto che siamo decisamente lontani dalle tematiche rivolte ai bambini, dove in linea generale si preferiscono colori accesi e decisi...
